A fantastic trailer for the sort of series that the BBC does so well, although it’s annoying to see that the series is two weeks in already. I would’ve been watching this from the get-go if I’d known. Via Kottke and originally from @dunstan.
(Musing a little on Kottke’s note that David Attenborough isn’t involved: I think it will be good even without him. David has always been extremely modest about his work and his contribution to the films. Although it is odd to watch any nature documentary without his distinct words and delivery over the top, I think it’s necessary for us to look at other narrators at this point, and perhaps even other approaches to filming nature docmentaries. Everybody has tried, and failed, to copy the style because he’s so good at it. Now there may be some space to explore new ideas.)
